Fleur-de-lis in French, literally means “flower of the lily”. It’s history, as a symbol dates back to the European nomadic people of the 7th century BC. It has been used as a symbol of royalty in France, beginning in the 5th century BC, as well as a Christian symbol, representing the trinity & purity. Over the years, it has become my favorite symbol and I use it a lot in my designs.
i have a number of artist friends that are amazing at what they do. I’m thrilled to be able to incorporate their work into my pieces. this is one of those beauties. there’s so much to this bead. it had to stand alone.
i have such a great group of artists to draw from with their amazing talents and this necklace is no exception. the beautiful lampwork bead was done by my friend, Jeff. He does fantastic work and I love incorporating his beads into my designs.
